2009 Tax Rates

For the tax information, the 2009 Tax Rate is as follows:

Taxes are due by August 31st of each year. If you think you might be away on this date there are a few options available to you to make your payment:

1. Drop a postdated cheque off at the Town Office

2. Drop a postdated cheque in the outside Drop off Box located outside the Town Office (parking lot).

3. Arrange payment through your financial institution. Please allow sufficient time for payment to reach our office. Some financial institutions take up to 4 business days to forward payment to our office.

Penalties are applied to outstanding current taxes on September 1st and on any outstanding amount on January 1st of each year. Tax Instalment Plan participants should review their tax notice to determine if any adjustment to your monthly payment is required and to arrange for any payment adjustments as early as possible.

Any persons previously on the Tax Instalment Plan or new persons interested in registering in the Tax Instalment Plan must make application or re-application in January of each year.

Applications are available at the Town Office. In order to qualify for the Plan, property owners must not have an outstanding tax amount and must be registered with the Town Office no later than February 28th. Payment is arranged through 12 equal payments (post dated cheques) beginning in January. Under the Tax Instalment Plan, there are no penalites applied on current taxes unless a payment is not honoured. In the case that a payment is not honoured, the tax payer will be removed from the Plan and any and all outstanding taxes will become due and subject to the same penalties as those not on the Plan.
